Well hello there garrett fans looks like i will be among the many users in this forum here and just won myself a GTP 1350 and can't wait to try it I hope garrett can make a believer out of me this is my first one have been quite a loyal tesoro user so we'll see what happens

Good luck with your new machine. Once you get it figured out and learn it well, you have the potential to really increase your finds. You now have a detector which has the ability to single out coin sized targets including jewellery and leave a lot more junk in the ground. I got my GTP 1350 in 2005, used it exclusively and found all this:

Uh oh - a Tesoro cross over! Get ready for a very different experience.
Gone is the smooth, modulated audio you are used to. The small audio hits that indicated deep targets on your Tesoros is replaced with short, unmodulated blips, as the Garrett 1350 gives short beeps on deep targets.

The weight is different and the features will take some getting used to, I assure you. The Profiling is particularly bothersome to some newcomers. You have to see it as a logical progression. Depress the pinpoint pad and pinpoint... release, and the detector auto shifts to Profiling Mode.... double tap the PP button to exit the Profiling mode.
I call it the "Edmonton Double Tap," in honor of our Canadian friend, John B.
You can also enter the Profiling mode whenever you want to get a sense of a targets size.

Also know that the 1350 is sensitive. The Tesoro will chirp and chop and pop as the SENS is raised too high, but the Garrett will get "boingy" and "bongy" as it becomes unstable with overdriven SENS. The cursor will bounce around and you'll wonder if the thing has gone nuts. Be cautious about cranking it up.

Learn to think of the BellTone as the sound of money, too. This one also drives some newcomers batty. But if you just accept it and don't fight it, you'll do a lot better.

Some where around here I have a bunch of 1350 information, along with some tips and tricks. Give me a day or two and Ill hunt them up. Meanwhile, PM me to remind me.....

Don't feel bad bud I used Tesoros ( and still do ) for a great many years - right almost from the day Jack Gifford started pumping them out. You won't be disappointed.

Only one problem with my gtp1350., I some times have to hit the pinpointer more then once, or I lose the signal first time, other wise I like my machine.
