Well, my pro-pointer just quit working yesterday...Sent it off to garretts this morning..

I'm out huntin with a buddy, first 2 targets pinpointer works perfect.. next target turn it on and it makes a long hi-pitch sound.. Immediately shot it off and try again. power on two beeps but does no register no targets.. will not pick up any kind of metal.. switched batterys no change.. musta fried some circut in the probe... So , how fast is garretts service dept ?? Hope its back in a week or so.

There are some very fine wires in the nose of the pinpointer, and they can break, sometimes with less than heavy use. From all indications, there was a small production run with some sort of problem. The one I have has worked flawlessly, even after being dropped a few times.

Yeah I've got one of the first made and I've dropped it several times with no problems but you're right about the fine wires.

Mine did the same thing. I sent it in and they sent me a brand new one. I had it in about 7 days! I have become so dependant on it that I didn't feel like I could go out MD'ing till I got my pro pointer back!:garrett:
 
I was starting to go for the pinpointer, then I thought Dang, it don't work... Hope your correct in getting it back fast.. 7 days would be ok with me..

Total turnaround time for mine was 9 days. They didn't repair it...They sent me a new one!!!!
 
Sorry to see that your propointer isn't working.:(That's a drag. Garrett's will fix ya' up in no time, though.:thumbup::garrett:

We've been really lucky with ours. We've had 'em since they came out and haven't had any problems whatsoever(knock on wood...or metal:happy:). They've even been dropped a few times, on hard pavement no less (hey, it happens:shrug:). They still work as well as they did on the day we got 'em.

Yep, most of the waiting time will be the shipping to and fro.

If my experience (and everybody else's I've read) is an indication, Garrett should turn it around in a day or two and probably send you a new one.
