Ya John, you seem to be really in tune with the vx-9 for sure. By all accounts you had a great season finding loads of clad coinage and jewelry to boot. !! WTG.. I was sooo tempted to pull the trigger on the 9 especially with the 25% off garrett was promoting, but since I really don't do much scanning any more ( except for sand ), my nox 600 just does a fine enough job.

In the 20's here. Everything's frozen.

Would you say it's better than all the machines you've had in the past ?
It's all about getting out and enjoying the hobby! You use what works for you.
It's cold here too. 3 F / -16 C. I am planning an outing on monday to see if I can score a few coins on a sledding hill.

No, but long underware, a winter coat, gloves and a toque to keep my ears warm.
