Well, this morning was a "bummer", but this afternoon we took "Jakkie" to a park and I dirt hunted...found clads and what appears to be an old buckle.

May I call upon the "buckle experts" and ask what their opinion is of this buckle?

It may be nothing spectacular, but I am interested in this buckle..this is my first buckle find and I was excited to dig it up.

There is a hole on either side of the inside to the buckle and also a stamp on the outside lower right....can't read it all yet.

Also ...how should I clean this buckle so that I can read the stamping?

Thank you for any help you can offer me on this find.

Correction: there is no stamping on it; what I was looking at was black residue....so much for my knowledge of relics.

That is an awesome find!! Congrats!!

Wow, Lorraine, congrats on finding an old, old buckle....I can just see a Pilgrim wearing the buckle....Truly a nice find! WTG.... :clapping:

God Bless!
