Last night I went back to the same spot in Cambridge on my way home. Figured if I found one IH there, there was hope for me. Stayed a bit too long but did hit another one. This one probably has the least corrosion of any I've found yet and was in the best shape (XF?) when dropped of any I've found. Still have to get the rest of the dirt off but I'm not sure I want to put it in peroxide since I like the green patina.

Also found this fleur-de-lis that I have no idea what it's from, although the slight asymmetry (at least to my eye) makes me wonder if it was a gun decoration. I thought it was brass but, after cleaning it a little, white spots are showing up, so I really don't know what it's made of. Lead? Any ideas as to what it was for?

Got this really nice signal at one point and it was deep. By 8" it was sounding really sweet and giving me a solid 3(?)-28 via the X-1 and I was thinking large copper. By the time I got an inch or two deeper it was sounding a bit large and my excitement started to taper off. Ended up being this half of a hinge(?).
Any idea of age range? Also found the Bersted "Best Lock" key, which was an "off" reading but soiunded good. Figured it was roughly from the '30s by the design and, from looking up the company, that would fit. Bersted Mfg apparently made really cheap products sold mainly in drug stores.
