Went detecting this morning...(and prayer request)

hadn't planned on it but when I got home from work I found a sick little girl asleep in out recliner in our bedroom. Casey has been sick for the past few days so please pray she gets well soon.
I didn't have the heart to send her off to her own bed so went out detecting. Found 2 parks I had not been to before. Shortly after arriving at the first one and getting 'geared up' a vehicle pulled into the lot and watched from a distance as I recovered several coins. Whoever it was left left a little while later. Hope I put on a good show for the occupant(s) of the vehicle <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
Not much there - only 39 cents in pennies, nickles and a dime. Oh yeah a mini football for the doberman to play with - he loves balls.
The next park was a bit strange. There were houses and property for sale along this strip of land and next to one house was a sign that said "Fine Park - City of Lansing". I saw nothing to indicate it was anything more than an unimproved grassy area with no playground equipment or anything beyond the sign.
This isn't the first piece of property the city owns that says it is a park yet there is little room to put up playground equipment - or even a parking lot for that matter. Its our Capitol city so I don't try to figure out the government or why they do what they do.
Oh well. The first park had some interesting things but unfortunately I didn't take the camera so can't show you the neat overlook of the Grand River or the display board that tells of parks in the Lansing area or that the Grand River is over 264 miles long.
This last fact made me think. Water travel for that distance and the area it covers would certainly have been a use 'road' to travel in the olden days of the Indians. (Sounds like a research project).
Well please give Casey your prayers for a quick recovery. Thanks all.
