Went on a hike...

with my family (at least the part that is still here right now). We went to a gold panning area (I had my family around, so I had to skip it for the day). I posted a few pictures a couple of years ago of this same area. We went on a little hike to see a waterfall called Lower Trestle Creek Falls. The trail to get to the falls follows along an old wagon road that was built in around 1889 to supply the Gold town of Bohemia.

Where Trestle Creek flows into Bryce Creek...It is like a big domed rock that the water flows over in a big sheet. Pretty cool looking!

A flower that was growing on the domed rock at Trestle Creeks outfall. It was getting ready to bloom.

Awesome pics J. I like the first one the best! Thanks for sharing!

There is beauty whereever you look!!!

This is that area just southwest of Cottage Grove. Come by this way, and I'll take you up there! :)

Beautiful scenery of the waterfalls and nice pics! The last two remind me of Johnson Shut-Ins near Ironton, MO! It was flooded out by the Electric Company's dam bursting, so don't know what kind of condition it is now! There was a lot of water running over large Limestone Rocks and have pics if and when I can find them and get them posted! Was a popular place for sight-seers and tourists! May God Bless! Amen!

Nice pictures! Thanks for sharing! Makes me want to share some of mine.

about 20 years ago we looked around the country for a new place to live and picked Cottage Grove. I got the newspaper from there for the year while I was teaching here and over a period of time they were saying how poor the teaching situation was. They ended up sending some home without paychecks.
So we wrote it off & glad we stayed here as we are now in a good financial and comfortable place. Steve
