Joan mowed the grass and away I went. Went back to the old yard where I found the ladies compact and the Boy Scout Good Luck Token a few weeks ago. Put the Teknetics into All Metal mode to see what popped up. Found lots of nails and stuff. Started in the front yard and found an ink pen with a coin holder attached. The penny inside of it is a 1971D. Moved to the back yard where I found the Token. Got a 1919 wheatie, and old wheel from a toy train, two memorials which showed aluminum on the meter, an old lock, a small chest key. Found what was left of the key wallet, but not much left. Also found a 1930's Marx Tin Litograph Toy Target. It was originally in a 3 piece set with two cowboys on horses, and an Indian standing up. They were with a target set where you could shoot at them with either a cork gun or whatever. On the bottom was stamped the points for knocking them down. The one I found is quite rusted, as is most of the stuff you find around here, due to all the heavy minerals in the ground. The old bottle opener is from the 1930's also and the all metal leg is probably from a stove or small cabinet. I found those in our backyard yesterday, again using the all metal mode. The one item that looks something like an old shell, but is not. Don't know what it is. Appears to be copper. May go back and finish the yard tomorrow before the storms hit.

First I thought it was a WW1 soldier, but in researching this afternoon, found out it was part of a 3 piece set. The others may be nearby. Will check. No details, due to the rust, but was a nice find anyway. Thought maybe the copper thingy was an old soldering tip.

Congrats on getting to go MD'ing and on the finds! It is raining here tonight, but was a beautiful day again! Supposed to turn colder with it raining! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Hey! You did good! Like those finds!

I like the Teky, but it seems to mis-read a lot of signals. Seems like it is half a notch off of the intended target. Dug two post 1982 pennies yesterday, and they came up as Aluminum, which was a strong signal with no wavering. Just seems to not properly ID some targets, but it does OK on most. I like it better than the ACE in the tone signals it gives out and the numerical target ID. The ACE skips around a lot, but is a good detector. Going to take the ACE and the 9 X 12 coil back over to the old yard I went to yesterday and see if the larger coil pulls out some deeper stuff. The Delta does a good job of depth reading. Again I like the tones it has. That ding, ding, ding, on the ACE drives me batty.
