Went to town today and...........

kickback

New member
Went in to town to run errands, took the 2500 and gear with.I went to the only park in town after errands were done.I say several old plugs on my way into the park.I started detecting and the detector started belltoning .Pennies, nickels, dimes and a few quarters were coming up.It rained and the ground was as soft as butter.Got a signal 2 notches below the penny, smooth, repeatable,it said "dig me".Out pops my first gold ring.It has 8 tiny diamonds on it.CWILK and Uncle Willy have been coaching me with the 2500.I did a ring dance and went back to detecting. Most of the coins were 3 to 5 inches deep.I haven't cleaned anything up except rinsing off the ring.I dug a couple of bucks in clad.I also found a neat little multi stone charm of some kind.Cashed in some clad and paid for all my hunting licenses.Bird season opened yesterday, now I can hunt the old farmsteads with my dogs then detect while the dogs rest up.Or leave the dogs home and just detect.Bill

Your next task is to get a picture of that ring posted. If it rang up that high on the scale it is either a nice chunk of gold or high carat gold. Was it marked? Did you weigh it? So many questions!

Oh yeah, CONGRATULATIONS!

Chris
