and got my first gold of the year! The rings were starting to bum me out as they are all gold plated and then, finally, the bracelet showed up in my scoop. I normally use my 1270 for wading but wanted to try out the C$ at this beach just to see what it would do.

Isn't there a way to take the plating off and create nugget? I remember reading something awhile back. I'll have to review my archive.

I suppose its possible Mike. Unfortunately most of the plated rings I find are old and have very little gold left on them. Usually they look so bad you know what you got when you see it in the scoop. It would probably take a lot of them to recover any useable amount of gold.
