Bought a couple of old bottles. One was a cork top. The other was an old Dr. Pepper bottle from around 1923. Paid .50 for it and it books for $5 to $10. Went out detecting at the Babe Ruth Complex. On one part of it there used to be an old flour mill from the 1800's. Tried detecting around it but was so much trash there it drove me more nuts than I already am. I did find this old bottle with a crooked top. Looks like an old cork top that had a old screw top added to it. Perhaps a prototype of some sort. Found some clad over by the ball diamonds, but have not cleaned them yet.

Hey There Dk, Maybe you should look into a smaller coil that that Teknetics 4000? The Teknetics website, on RCTC, list the 5

Congrats on getting out and on your finds, DK! Old bottles are neat to collect! I have a few but not many! Nice pics also! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

I used to have a large collection of old bottles that I found while I was a pest control technician back in the 80's. Found them under old houses. Wish I still had them. I would like to start Privy digging. Some people do that around here and find lots of old treasures. I think Treasuredigger(aka Lisa) does that, I am not sure, tho.

Martin--I could have used the smaller coil. It would have helped. I may get the one for the 4000 and I am planning on getting the Sniper coil for the 250. This area floods a lot due to it being in low river bottoms and the river is only about two blocks away, so all the trash seems to collect in this area. There was also an old saw mill just down the bank from this site. Looks like they dumped fill here at one time or another.

I like the Dr Pepper bottle!
