Wet or Dry??

Dreadnox

New member
I am going around a local lake that is way down here in Austin Texas and being a newbie am not sure if I can submerge the coil on my new Safari or not. What suggestions can I get? Yes? No? Maybe? Help!!

Coil is fine underwater. But get any into the control box and PFFFFFFFFFFFFT. Be Extremely careful if you have had your coil in water to not bring the shaft beyond horizontal because the water can run back into the control box that way too.

I often detect a few inches in the swash at the beach but am Very Paranoid about anything more than an inch or 2 over the coil.

Ditto what KinTN said. I recently purchased one from Kellyco and LOVE IT! Great Metal Detector! I use it about 50/50 at the beach and inland.
