And, the Coin..........anyone know anything about oriental coins? It is unusual to find an "ornamental" coin in northeast Texas!! 10 Yen? 10 Won??

And the third 'C'......the Clad, a whopping $1.79 in clad. But, it was a great day....I got to go hunting!!!!

I dug the exact same (10) coin the other day here in W Tn. Actually, I have dug several of what appears to be Oriental types of coins over the years and have never taken the time to try and find out what they actually are. I am with you on "it was a great day.....I got to go hunting"!!! HH jim tn

Jim, I found out that it is a 10 Yen, worth exactly 01.19 cents U.S.! The one I have was minted in 1997. jrc79inNC provided the following: "On the 10 Yen Japanese coin the date on the front side on the third of 4 characters is the number 9. In Japanese and Chinese coinage, they go by the year of the current ruler's tenure. In this case this year 9 is the 9th year of Akihito (Heisei) being in rule and in our dating system is 1997. You have one out of roughly 490.9 million that were minted that year. "

Nice hunt
HH to all

Good hunting Roland, your cars look great, it seems when I find one the tires are always missing. Thanks for the pictures. HH Randy

Hey Roland, I came across a Japanese yen coin just a few months ago. Mine turned out to be a 1973 10 yen coin. Found it about 6in in the wet sand in Corpus Christi Bay. Had me wondering how this coin made it to our bay. But any find is a neat find I say. HH.

Wow! Thanks Roland. that would be a first for me...a 01.19 cent coin. LOl. Really, though, thanks for the info, HH jim tn

Good job, Roland - trust me, those cars will multiply over time. Looks like the ones you find are in better condition than most of mine.
