That MD is going to be a very rich man after they pay him the value for it. Just imagine on the 11 POUNDS of gold, never mind the silver, jewels and other related historical pieces.
 
Hope the "friend" that let him detect on the site splits it with him because legally he could say it's mine and on my property and I am taking the WHOLE thing. :beers:

You'd be surprised what happens when $$ comes into play.
 
IMHO..... Even if the MDist just gets a percentage of the value, it is a lot more
than he had being unempolyed. Besides, it will probavly take a long time for
the powers that be to make a decision, sell the items, record the transaction,
etc. and etc. and finally get the proceeds to the deserving ones. I just
hope it doesn't take too long for them to get their rewards. That was a tremendous
find that would make any MDist proud to call this his/her hobbie.
