What about the 505?

Don't see much about it, I'm think about adding another detector to my collection, with the different coil kHz would be great, I'm think the small LF coil anyone use it ?

I've been using the X 505 ever since they come out with it and I like it. Check out some of my post's and you can see what I find with it. I think it's a Gr8 MDer for the money.

I recently purchase a 505 as a backup machine to my 705. I took it on a hunt the other day and it performed nicely. I did miss the extra discrimination segments on the 705 but other than that I really couldn't tell much difference between it and the 705. Good machine and I would recommend it highly.

Hank... You really can't go wrong with any Xterra. I have yet to see a post," Xterra quit working." My first XT was a X30 in 2006, still works fine! I've had the 705 for two and a half years now, will be sending it in to ML for its ending 3 year warranty check up at the end of the year, then I get 2 more years from Kellyco. All that being said, look for a used one, seen some good deals in the classified.
Mark has outstanding results with his 505 and his posts are proof, but then all the guys that post here using what ever XT make many great finds! GL

I really like my XT 505, I don't think you can find anything better for the price. I use the 6" 18.75 KHZ DD coil 95% of the time and the separation of this coil is awesome! The sensitivity to small gold is amazing with this coil also. I've had my for about 1 week shy of a year now. It's so versatile that I'm still figuring out all it can do. It's really great as it's like having a different detector with just a coil change. HH, Scott

Same here. Just haven't been able to find a reason to by an eTrac

My suggestion would be to keep the Xterra regardless of whatever else you may at some point get. I have an SE, and I still go for my 705 first.
FWIW, when I pick up an FBS2 machine, I probably won't have the SE any more, but I'll still have my Xterra.

It has been a solid detector for me. I've found a lot of good silver with it.
