What are the chances of this!?

First I want to say "thanks" again to Don in SJ for his expertise in identifing this variation, he is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to old coppers, and probably most all coins as well! He established that this is a 1786 NJ Copper. I dug this one yesterday. It was a week ago that I found the first one, an 1787 at a completely different location.

Congrats on another great find! I had a similar experience but not with a Colonial Copper. Seated Coins are tough to find around my area, especially the Quarter. I was at this site of mine detecting because a couple of friends and I were here detecting before and found a lot of Old Indians and Barbers, along with the other denominations as well. Anyways, I decided to detect off to one side of the field and knew there had to be Coins there as well. I started detecting and come across an old Trade Token. Then the next signal I dig, out pops an 1877 Seated Quarter. I was shocked! And it was my first Seated Quarter. A day short of a full month goes by and I am detecting at a site that is a Town Hall (the first site was also a Town Hall) out in Minnesota that is about 100 Miles or more away from the other site and I find an 1878 Seated Quarter. This was one of them Coins I didn't think I was ever going to find again but I was proven wrong almost a full month later. You just never know where you will find another Coin that you previously found before that you thought you would never find again and when you least expect it, another will come out of the ground. Again, Congrat's on that Coin you found and it looks to be in fairly good shape for how old it is. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you.

Just like your NJ coins being found close together time wise, I am sure most of us have experienced that, but nice that it happens. Congrats on getting an identifiable state coin, they are special and look forward to you finding some more!
