What are they thinking????

Pete in MI

I have a gift card, given to Sherry and I as a wedding present, and it had about $8.50 left on it. Took it to Home Depot and used it to buy a new pair of leather gloves for digging...protecting me when metal detecting. The price was right as I still have 95 cents on the card. The gloves are even colored the same as my Minelab. I usually don't question such a gift from God. But I wonder what Home Depot is thinking. These wonderful gloves are made in PAKISTAN. :yikes: :hot:

Is it my imagination or is this the same country we see on TV with adults and kids in the streets, waving and shooting AK-47 rifles - protesting the United States?

Tell me I am wrong. Tell me someone didn't decide Americans didn't need jobs. Tell me some company didn't decide to support those who want to destroy America. A country that protects and supports terrorists...including Osama Bin Laden.

What in the world are these people thinking?????

only about how to get the all mighty dollar in there pocket by getting there items over seas.
Once again its greed!!
They could get the item here but would pay more and make less money.
Our industry ( making meds ) are seeing some of these other countries that at one time could make the drugs cheap due to low wages now its costing them more because now with these big companies over there the workers want a better standard of living so the wages are starting to come up and some of the products we have sent over seas are coming back here and being made where I work
Maybe things are slowly turning around here in America but I feel it will be very slow!
Greg

Ths is the wrong forum for me to elaborate Pete but with the comrade-in-chief that we now have it is gonna git a LOT worse before it gets any better.

The latest election(and i use the term loosely) proves that we are living 2 Timothy 4:3-4....."For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to thier own desires, because they have itching ears,they will heap up for themselves teachers;
and they will turn thier ears away from the truth, and be tured aside to fables ."

To answer yer question... Clearly it's what they are NOT thinkin, they're not using the word of God to guide them. Lining thier greedy democratic pockets is ALL they think about.

Not too many things made here anymore! :(

And Pete I just read on the NET, where there are many Muslim training camps in the US for the terrorists and according to that report the US Gov't can't close them so it is up to the true citizens of America to report them and get them closed! Are our leaders (or supposed leaders) doing what is right? Oh no, it's like Greg says, for the money....greese the palms of those who donated to their campaigns, so they'll continue on getting the votes and into office for years and years and get richer, as most of them have, if not all! Also, so those big donators can get top of the line jobs in the Gov't! I told people and store clerks back in the 60's that the imports would put Americans out of work.....but did they listen, oh no, didn't believe me then and won't believe us now! Soooooo.....goes America....down the sewer into a third world nation! God Bless! Betty P.S. Most don't think....PERIOD!!!

it has nothing to do with politics -
They make the gloves in Pakistan because there they only have to pay workers pennies a day instead of dollars an hour. but if enough people made enough of a stink about where the gloves are made - enough that it affected the pocketbook, then the companies would buy gloves made elsewhere.
It would involve being serious enough about it to stop just complaining, and to actually do something - like write a letter stating this is the reason you have stopped shopping in their store, and then to not shop there. If they get letters, but don't see any difference in the trends, it won't matter.
In Canada a number of people have started shopping at "Superstore" because they advertise that they buy goods from Canadian manufacturers.
