What became of the 650 RTR?

Anyone know anything about the Search Scan Electronics 650 RTR Metal Detector?
Was or is the "different type of signal" (from the excerpt below) successful?
From page 18 of the June 1993 issue of Lost Treasure magazine:
..."Rather than using "pulse delay" circuitry to reject unwanted targets, the 650 will produce a different type of signal as the search coil passes over either ferrous or non-ferrous targets. This allows the USER instead of the DETECTOR to reject unwanted targets allowing maximum detection depth to be achieved at all times."
I hope I'm not asking a question that has been gone over and over, but I couldn't find any references to the 650 RTR from this forum's search results.

Hi Bob,
As I understand it, it was basically a copy of the Whites Surfmaster PI electronically. From the Lost Treasure test report it appears that the audio discrimination was the same as you can do with any PI. i.e. double peak signal on nails and elongated iron objects and a wide washed out signal on steel bottle caps, washers etc.

They went out of business at least 5 years ago. From what I recall Anchor Elect. (Barracuda) bought their inventory.
