What can I expect ? Safari....XLT

:shrug:I currently own a Whites xlt but am ready to upgrade, my hunting partner swings a ctx 3030 and is finding old coins in spots I have covered. The xlt is a fine detector but the depth is just not there, I have many nice finds with it, but I am now convinced Minelab is the next detector I will purchase. I was hoping someone who has used both the xlt and the safari could tell me what to expect. Thanks in advance for your comments.

No experience with the XLT as for as the Safari, I haven't done any inland hunting with mine because I mostly beach hunt. On the beach I can tell you that it is very stable and deep. I believe that it is the best that I've used on the beach. I've done a lot of research before purchasing mine and there is a lot of good reviews on it. It may take a little getting use to but I think that you will like it. The learning curve wasn't bad for me because I owned Minelabs before and love them. I hope that I can get to the beach tommorow. Good Luck!

Hi sir I used the xlt for four years off and on. I never really clicked with it my buddy has one and has heck of a collection. with that being said found four silver in four years call it two and half didn't detect a ton any of the years. first year with minelab safari sixty two silver. its a powerful machine and extremely simple to use. Pin pointing will take little time for you to get used too and all the new sounds. your first four or five hunts you will want to wrap it around a tree don't. and when you see that 38 on id and hear the unmistakable tone at six inches you will see what us minelabbers already know. Your HOOOKED my friend simple as that will never look back. I can honestly say that switching to this brand from the other was the best decision I have ever made regarding a hobbie. I hunted three years with the safari numerous times with my buddy who is expert with the xlt he simply could not hit many of the targets I could and had his machine maxed out. Also dug a lot more trash many many times he had me check a hole for him to see what my machine said. even he was very impressed with the safari but refuses to switch but that's like getting a ford guy to go chevy. I since switched to the etrac and kept the safari and numerous times lent out the safari and watch people that never detected before find coins deep. two silvers with two different people that never detected before. You will be happy if you switch.

Yep, you are right about the Ford, chevy thing. I guess I am odd cause I traded ford for chevy and White's for Minelab and haven't looked back, like they say once you go minelab you never go back.
