What chances dou you think I have to find a 2 meter-deep buried pistol, considering I only know just a vaguely approximate location (a backyard)? What type of metal detector should I build to be able to actually find it? The weapon has been buried 60 years ago by one of my uncles who doesn't remember exactly its location. I have an approximation of up to 10 meters each direction and I'm not delighted at the idea of excavating all that ground (100 square meters!) 2 meters deep just to find a Walter.
