What Do We Know?

1 John 2:3-5 (New International Version)

"3 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 4 The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him."

Do you know the Lord, or do you just know about Him? What's the crucial difference between these two concepts? Most important, if it's only the latter, how can you change, and why is it important to do so?

To know about Jesus is like knowing about another state or nation that we have never been to, we know that it exists but we have no idea how it looks, what is there unless we read about or see pictures! But when we live in that state or nation then we personally learn more and more and really know what the state or nation is all about! The same with knowing Jesus, when He dwells within us then we know Him as our personal Savior, but just knowing about Him is not a personal relationship......each is very different! I am so glad that God saved me in Jesus' name and His Holy Spirit lives (dwells) within me Who guides and directs our footsteps and teaches the absolute truth of the Bible and the Bible is the Living Word of God! Amen! God Bless! Betty
