What do you guys use to keep the 12.5 inch imaging coil in place so that it doesn't fold up and down?

I bought a used 12.5 imaging coil for my GTI2500. I can't tighten down the coil tightener enough so that it doesn't pivot up and down.
Just wondering if anyone has ideas?
Thanks

Tom,
I've seen attachable brackets at KellyCo that keep the coil at a desired angle. check them out at www.kellycodetectors.com.

Contact Mary Penson at Garrett for the longer bolt they supply.

Tom,
I am just a newbie, and I don't even have my Garrett yet. Soooo what I am about to say is without knowing what your connection looks like, but The machine I have, had the same problem. There was just too much gap between the bracket and the mechanical connection to the coil. I just made a nylon washer about 1/16" thick and then when the old nylon machine screw and nut were tightened, then the friction actually made the coil stay at the desired angle.
Hope this helps and HH

I have an 8" coil and I was not thinking about the 12.5" having sooooo much more leverage. Make sure that a tighter connection will not damage anything due to the extra weight of the 12.5"

I had the same problem with mine. Tried the extended bolt thing and others to no avail. I ended up solving the problem by using a Whites coil stablizer, of all things. Bolts right on with no mods necessary. I has holes for setting at different angles, and if one spot isn't "quite" right, just turn the pole clamp to other side,....you'd see what I mean if you have it in front of you.
