I dont have a clue as to what ohms etc. represent the best and worst in eadphones. I have a set of $30. fishers. Whats best for my cz7apro ? would it be different for my shadow x 2 ? Or my 1236 x 2 ? I need input! Thanks, I have always gotten te help I needed from you folks, you are a gret bunch!

Hi Chuck,
Most detectors I have come across are pretty tolerant of headphone impedance. I invariably use 8ohm phones but find that high impedance piezo types work just as well. Headphones do vary in sensitivity, tone and sharpness of signal. I have found that cheap phones sometimes perform better than the special types that are specifically designed for detectors. However, there are many things to consider as well as the sound, such as ruggedness, weather proofing and weight. Detector phones also often have clipping circuits that prevent an ear blasting when a coin is just below the surface.
Eric.

So, there is nothing to the "extra depth" of the superphone 2001 ?
