When in prospecting mode I hear a faint beep and then switch to C/T mode to help identify it, the C/T mode doesn't make a noise. If I dig the spot I find a small piece of metal (not gold, looks like melted aluminum). Is the C/T mode just not set right to find the target? Just to clear up any ideas on why I was trying this, I read this on another thread and thought I would try it.

Prospecting mode will typically hunt a bit deeper than the Coin/Treasure mode. Just the price we pay to have discrimination and TID, I suppose. On the other hand, if you're not running an open screen, you may have rejected the notch segment representing that specific target's properties. Try the C/T mode on that target, using a Pattern with zero discrimination or All Metal. That will tell you whether it is a matter of depth or a matter of being rejected. And if it does "make a noise" let us know what the TID indicates. HH Randy

Be aware that the sensitivity setting, along with all other settings accept ground balance, are separated between the two modes. For example, the sensitivity setting could be at 27 in the Prospecting Mode, then make a switch to the Coin and Treasure Mode and the sensitivity might be set at 22.
