This was a vibrant area when I was growing up. This whole empty area was filled with buildings, nice solid buildings from the turn of the century and mid 1800's, but now Target and homedepot brought it out. There used to be a Steel Company Here named Washburn where I worked as a class 10 and 20 machinist drawing wire for air crafts, cars, musical instruments, electronic devices... It's my old times hang out, where I lived loved, grew up and sad to see it when I return to see the devastation that has occur there after many people gave their lives to protect their turf from drugs and racism. I sure missed living there in the 60's and 70's...

When the buildings were here you could not see the school in the back ground... the blue square tells you where my building was... right behind the blue pop up where the small tree has grown in the back ground is where you could see my window on the second floor...

On the metal detecting side... I wish I could have metal detected this area that was torn down back then when it was first demolished, had to be some good stuff in those ruins... We'll never know now...

This is a scene in 72 where Santino, Sonny comes to his sister's block on 118th street off Pleasant Ave and Sonny beats his sister's husband Carlo up for hitting her. You can see all the buildings I am talking about even though there is a Rheingold Beer Truck covering the WashBurn factory Logo in the back ground wher I used to work...Imagine how they demolished that whole structure in the back ground along with to 9 story buildings. here's a clip, a little violent but it was the times we were living in at the time there in Spanish Harlem. This is just to show how proporous our area was... We had three major distributors and all left after Carter, & Reagan came into office.

no minors are permitted onto this site, so watch the clip without the little ones present, no foul language is spoken.

This is where my building stood, built in the 1800's. When you walked into my apartment you can see the gas pipes sticking out of the walls for light. This is where I practiced my music and perfected my music and I started to live as a young man circa 1966-72...
