What headphones do you use for the GT?

I am just not happy with the sound comming from the different headphones I have tried so far. I cannot control the volumn on the ones I have is a major problem also. any suggestions would be of great help. I have the minelab UR-30 Koss and think I can do better. Any help would be great!

These are great headphones and very comfortable and block out the background noise so you can hear the deep targets. I am very hard of hearing and need headphones with max volume so I have a pair of Timberwolfs and a set of the Bushmaster headphones that have the volume I need . those hunting close to me can even hear them they are so loud, but I do need them for the volume or I would own a pair or 2 of the Sun Ray Pro Golds.

I also have hearing problems and use the Killer B II's. They allow me to adjust the volume for each ear. The tones I get from my GT with those headphones are great.

Im in the same boat as Rick and George. After years around heavy equipment my hearing isn't real great. Im using black widows but don't really need the volume control on them because I pretty much need to leave the volume maxed out on the GT and my headphones.

those koss ur30s are good headphones, they slide off my head to easily is the only reason I dont use them. inland I like the sunray golds and at the beach where I need extra sound blocking I like the black widows. you can get louder volume on the ones Rick mentions but sound wise those koss ones are pretty good.

thank you all for your answers, what I have now does not stay on my head long also, bend over, they fall off. I am going to keep an eye out for all mentioned. Love the GT, now maybe I can settle down and feel better about what I am doing. Happy Hunting to all!

Pro golds......but for the most part if you look at the spects for top rated phones there isn't a difference. The golds are very chrisp and clear and made to last.

:ausflag: I need good advice on head phones I have just purchased a sovereign gt looking at killer b11or Optima .Sun ray pro gold or grey ghost I live in Australia to buy any of these headphone I have to import them so I cannot look at them or see how they feel on my head as there are no dealers over here. Most dealer sell Koss ur30 here used for gold prospecting on M/L they have no volume control on them . What is the advantage of volume controls on head phones used for treasure hunting and what do the buttons or switches do on top line headphones. Thanks regards john

Volume controls on the headphones allow you to run the machine in full volume and adjust the volume on the headphones to your liking. I have been told that you get max sensitivity with the machine in full volume. The switches on the headphones are there so that you can use the headphones on any machine. Some detectors differ in how they work with headphones therefore the switch so that you can select the mode that your machine uses.

I had a pair of the UR-30's and did not like them at all. I let my brother-in-law have them.

also some of the toggle switches are limiter switches. these help keep a loud burst of sound coming through the headphones, like if you have the volume all the way up and hit a larger surface target. the other is usually like george said, a stereo/mono switch. Koss doesnt use that stereo/mono toggle, maybe it converts in the plug? they seem to work on all detectors. Makes you wonder why everyone isnt doing that.

I use the Shadow Pro. headphones on mine they
fit my hearing better than any others. I try to buy them when I see them.
Just My 2 cents
