Last Monday when I got home from work my wife and oldest daughter were painting the master bedroom. It didn't need painting as it's only been a year or so since she took the wallpaper off and we painted it, but she said she wanted to paint it a different color. My daughter had painted one of their bedrooms a pastel green and she gave my wife a gallon of paint she had left, my wife quickly pointed out she would only have to buy another gallon of paint so it was only gonna cost like $12.95 to change the color.
$12.95 is a small price to pay to keep her calm so I smiled and told her okay, that it was a pretty color and would look good with the curtains, bedspread and carpet. But Tuesday when I got home from work the carpet from the master bedroom was lying on the side of the street for the garbage people to pick up. Huh? That carpet was expensive, and although it was four or five years old it still looked great. When I got in the house and asked about the carpet she said it didn't go with the color she had painted the room and she was going to put down a laminated floor.
Wednesday when I got home she had bought enough laminate to do the bedroom and hall. Thursday when I got home she had took the laminate back and said she was going to put down regular tile. Friday when I got home she was gone to look at samples. She came in with several samples of ceramic tile but couldn't make up her mind if she wanted ceramic or not.
Yesterday when I got home she had borrowed our son in laws big pickup, went to Tupelo and bought enough ceramic tile at Home Depot to do three of the five bedrooms, the hall, kitchen and everyday dining area. The son in laws truck would only haul half of the tile at a time so I had to go today and get the other half. That stuff is heavy!! Right at 4,000 pounds total for what she bought and I had to carry every box of it from the truck and stack it inside.
I'm so darn sore so it hurts to move, and still wondering how the heck we went from a $12.95 gallon of paint to $6,000 for the tile and getting it put down when everything looked great to begin with <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt="
