Hi all
Here are 2 more photos of an "object" that I have been trying to ID. It was found on our first outing. My wife and I were detecting an old swimming hole in a river. This muscket ball looking thing came out of the water as you see it. Clean and fresh. No oxidation. At first I thought it was a fishing weight and almost put it in the trash bag. However I noticed the straitions on the sides and that there was no area to crimp onto a fishing line with as well as no holes of any kind. As soon as I saw the striations I thought a musket ball or some sort of shot! Yee Haw...but I do know they have modern muzzle loaders and a season for hunting with them down here so is it some sort of modern shot or is it something other? Again I have looked for info and have not found anything similar. One of the treasure hunting sites I did have a view showing pic of a group of items and a few of them were "balls" and were very similar looking. So any ideas?
