I can't find this anywhere in manual. Anybody know for 'absolute' certain??? Reason I'm asking is during recent hunt temp. went down to freezing, and I don't think detector was giving optimum responses at that temp.
I did find a musket ball but the rest was mostly large metal items like lead or iron etc.
Thanks!

with temps in the upper 20's and low 30's many times and never ever noticed any difference.

Ive hunted in pretty darn cold weather.. was out there once at 20 degrees and 0 degree wind chills... Didnt notice any performance loss, but the NIMH batteries sure dont last as long.. after a few hours your ready for a spare, but if its that cold after a couple hours your batteries are about out too... if its freezing or above not much of any problem at all.. 60 degreess is optimum.. maybe not for the detector but for me <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

it was too cold for me - of that I am sure! And probably below 30F by sunset. Thanks Jim!

Real field tests from real users all over the country sure would qualify for official stats in my opinion.

last year at the river, we had to follow tha tide down because the ground froze in about 20 min.
I was concerned about the LCD display freezing but that wasn't a problem.
I also thought that battery life would be reduced... but they outlasted me.
We were finding things so I don't think that the performance was reduced. HH George

I used the explorer11 when it was in the 30's with no problem. The battery pack showed on the panel that the battery was almost used up.Turn Explorer11 off, then on again then battery reading back up to where it was when I first started. The reading held the the next few hours.

I stayed out there for 3.5 hours in the howling wind. My 1600 battery pack was about 3/4 empty but the EXll ran great. Deepest coin was a quarter @10"
