What makes this T2 any good?

I mean is this just a flavor of the month, or does the T2 have serious advantages over other detectors? Any specialized applications does the T2 have like relic, coins, cache and why? Are there any other coil sizes other than the 11"? Thanks.

You can't really explain it until you use one. The T2 is one hell of a relic machine and you can read the post to get an idea. A lot of the true relic hunters are starting to discover the T2 and F75. The F75 is almost identical to the T2 except for some extra bells and whistles. Once you use the T2 and see how it works you will not want to use anything else. I know this doesn't answer you question but its hard to explain unless you have used one. The T2 is really enjoyable to use and it doesn't miss a thing. The T2 uses 4 AA batt. and I have hunted at least 2 to 3 times a week for a couple hours at a time. I hunted all last month and started this month and the bat. still show full. The batt life is amazing. To put in a nut shell, its sensitive, deep and easy to use and doesn't miss very much.

They say a pic is worth a thousand words

& the killer Bi-axial "DD" coil makes it really tough to beat in trash. The approx 13 khz makes it hot on mid-conductors like bullets & buttons...that's why relic hunters love it so much. Super ergonomics, nice trigger, great sounding all metal mode, etc, etc, etc.....

for serious hunting... 20, 21 and 22!

quote "To put in a nut shell, its sensitive, deep and easy to use and doesn't miss very much" the key is it doesn't miss very much,,once you go over it with the T2 its been picked about as good as you can,,yet anyways,,wayne

Hi Mark,

Bill L and others have mentioned using PF mode with a disc setting of 21 for great performance in iron ect. What I found is that depending on conditions and hunting style the range of 20 thru 22 works well. When hunting a plowed field and wanting to cover ground fairly quickly a disc setting of 22 was a bit easier for me to work with. Small iron that normally snaps and pops with the disc at 21 was coming in as somewhat good sounding beeps with the slightly faster than optimum sweep I was using over the uneven freshly turned earth. By raising the disc setting to 22 it eliminated some of the sounds I was having to stop and double check. I'm sure I missed a few targets that way but my object was to cover the field quickly for any newly turned up targets.

I don't know who first suggested setting the disc at 21 for hunting iron but, I strongly agree it is an optimum setting to allow the goods beeps of non-ferrous to come thru in those iron trashy areas.

Jackpine, thank you very much for your answer. I will try it out for myself and, thanks to you, it makes sense. I appreciate it, this kind of support helps me get more and more used to this outstanding machine. :detecting:

He told me to put my disc on 21 to hear some iron when I borrowed the T2 like a year ago. Then I found tons of stuff in iron rich house sites I thought were "hunted out"....
HH,
Bill

Hi Bill,

With the standard nail test I use to set the disc on a detector the T2 fell right in the 21-22 range.
