what metal detector to buy

ridigger

New member
Hi, until recently I had no interest in a metal detectors. Then I spoke to someone at the beach who started telling me about it and the more I heard the more interested I became. My problem now is I want to get into metal detecting but don't know what kind to buy. I live in Rhode Island, about forty minutes from the ocean and ten minutes from the bay. I don't want to spend to much initially because I don't know if I'll stick with it or not, I believe I will though. I would like to be able to find coins and jewelry including gold. I was thinking of a f2 or f4 Fisher only because I don't know any other kinds. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks.......

F75,
T2,
At Pro water proof and can wade..
Minelab Excal Wader
Any Se Model Minelab for the beach only

Just loo them over and pick the one you like best...Many different brands and types out there..
Buy from a reputable dealer like Backwoods here on the forum..

I'm thinking about getting back to the beaches as well......or even some parks that may be hiding some rings & jewlery
Your in the ocean state with tons of good beaches close by...
For the $$ your 2 choices sound like real good ones to get you started.....

Bill

If you plan to do any water hunting I would also include the new AT-Pro in that list as it is waterproof.
