What program and set up would you use for a competition seeded hunt?

12 kHz
Reactivity = 3
Silencer = -1 or 0
Disc = 2 to 10
Iron Vol = 0
Sens = 93-95
TX = 3
Audio Response = 3
Overload = 1
Notch = 00-50
GB Manual...3 points BELOW average GB readings
Ground Notch = 85-90
Set breakpoints (if not using full tones) for nickel<dime<quarter targets. I think US nickels in 12 kHz read 52-54, dimes 88-90, and quarters 92-94 if I remember correctly (I've really gotten used to 4 kHz VDI readings)

12 kHz for faster recovery vs 4 or 8 kHz, reactivity = 3 enabling a fast swing speed, {TX = 3; -3 points GB from average; Silencer = -1 or 0} for easier "hooking" of targets at the edge of the coil. Slightly offset manual GB enables a little more sensitivity without falsing.Notch of course ignores everything else non-ferrous...Will there be seeded trash targets as well? Or just the coins?

Basically this is the Deus Fast program except you would be using 12 kHz. Iron Vol is at "0" so no iron distractions. Ground notch will help if you bump the coil on a tree root, or stubble - enabling ground notch seems to further quiet the machine when it's run nearly wide open like this, especially in TX = 3

Good luck with the hunt and as always - we want pics!

I used CZconnoisseur's Seeded Hunt Program recommendations and the program rocked at our Fall Seeded Hunt. Excellent!

Thanks CZ!

I like this setup but have a few questions. Would it be best to set up 2 or 3 competition programs all being the same but different frequencies just in case of other detector interference? I have a bit of trouble with a couple detectors around me mainly minelabs. Also since these hunts are not deep as they are usually planted would it be better to have the sensitivity lower for smoother/quieter operation? Silencer at 2 if really trashy as the targets should be fairly shallow. This way you will get minimal falsing and fast recovery rates as signals should sing. I like the rest looks ideal. Interested in your thoughts.

Stix, I am just your average Deus user so not close to being expert. Our hunts take place in pretty much the same place so trash is not a factor. With 20 or so hunters we found 8 or 10 pieces of trash. There was one other Deus user and he must have been on a different program/frequency as there was not Deus inteferrence. I got a little buzz every now and then probably from another detector, but it was not a problem. The recovery was excelent. On a few occasions I swept over three or 4 targets and hit them all. I had no falsing that I could tell. Program worked very very well. I tweaked nothing.

All information is needed. I am no expert by far. That's why I was asking I was just curious. I am sure the program worked well I was just tossing in my .02 to see what others thought maybe help make it better. Thanks for the reply.

you should never run you silencer above 0 ever

Lower silencer settings will also help with targets that are approaching the edge of the coil. During a seeded hunt you'll want the largest detecting footprint possible. Maybe one more tweak to this program would be to run GB settings a little hot, since you more than likely aren't looking for super deep targets. Have been running my GB a few points below the ground reading (a little hot) on recent hunts - I've dug a couple deep nails that were iron falses, but on the other hand I was able to hit a small aluminum token in 4 kHz deeper than I anticipated. More about that later..
