I already have 2 detectors would like a PI for the beach in the winter. Any suggestions on a inexpensive unit if not I understand you get what you pay for but my wife would kill me if I spend alot of money <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)"> TIA Ed

Depends what you consider a lot of money. A new really good PI such as the Goldquest is about $750. If that isn't considered a lot, then it's a top rate machine for the price. Better if you look for a used one if you want to save money and not spend a lot, but they will be hard to find. For about $350 you may find something that is ok, as are always some used Tesoro Piranha or Fisher Impulses, Garrett XL-500's around at about $300-$400, but they have some limitations on gold sensitivity/depth compared to the higher priced machines. Another decent PI is a Whites Surfmaster and they can be found at about $300+ used. Good huntin, John
