what to buy?

I've been thinking lately of taking a serious crack at fresh water beach/water detecting at a little lake called Lake Tahoe. I live on the Nevada side of the lake and have been told that the lake and surrounding area is highly mineralized. My question is this. Can anyone who is practiced there tell me which brand/model is best suited up here, and why? Any info. will be welcomed. Thanx treasure hunt junkie

Tesoro Tiget Shark its a VLF unit, Mickfin

Ok this is a PI forum my Bad??? Garrett Sea Hunter PI It has a Elemination control works Like a Disc on a VLF unit,
I got a Tesoro Sand Shark on the way its a PI unit also, Mickfin

Mick,

Just wondering? Are you still happy with your sea hunter as a PI unit?
Do you think the sand shark is a better unit or maybe the Whites DF?

Hi, I am new to this forum and to prospecting. I would like to introduce myself and see if anybody can give me any advice or suggestions on an ACCURATE LOCATOR SSP-3100? I am new very interested in one of the PI systems. Thank you. Gary

Hi Marty sorry i missed your post, Yes in a PI unit i Like my Sea Hunter with the 8" coil, The Elemination is Like a Disc, The Big coil will get you more coverage, As fare as Depth a PI will get the same Depth Big or small coils it cant tell witch coil you have Like a VLF unit???
Better pin Point with small coils, For VLF units i use a Garrett AT-Pro for fresh water and all around use, And you can get it wet,
Im kinda Spooked putting it under water Garrett had some leakers at first, The AT-Pro has a fast recovery speed for seperation of targets a DD coil also, Mickfin,
