What to do with junky brass, bronze and copper metals?

What do you do with your junky Brass, copper, and bronze metals. I mean, do you just hold onto it? Or do you keep your metals separated, and trade in for cash once you have a bit of it? Maybe some folks just toss it out... I have a few old brass and copper pipe ends, and tubes... Even an old brass spigot I found, along with other similar items. I've got an old bronze lid to something, or maybe it was a wheel??

Detecting in the past I usually just held on to items like these.

This may sound funny but I smelt my scraps into bars. You can buy propane smelts and molds online. Also do it outside, fumes get pretty intense, but dissipate quick.
