What type of Lube on ATPRo Battery Seal?

What type of Lubricant is on the Seal that seals moisture out of the battery compartment? I changed batteries and would like to keep the Seal lubricated good. Anyone know?

I would suggest a silicone bases lube, which is available at dive shops and fishing supply stores. I know Garrett has a top of the line rubber "O" ring on the Infinium and the Sea Hunter Mark II for their battery packs. They use a high grade military type rubber called "Nitrile Rubber." I can only assume the same with the AT Pro. There are several other types of rubber such as Neoprene, Propylene, Butyl, Natural and many others that will break down from petroleum, however the particular type Garrett uses will not.

Any oil base product will attack rubber.
Silicone is your best ingredient, neutral on rubber.

Dielectric grease works great for most rubber seals too. You can pick up small 'ketchup packet' sized packs at most auto parts stores for less than a buck.
