What was you oldest coin that you found???

If it doesn't have a date, then what years were they minted.

My oldest coin was a 1965 quarter!!!!:rofl:

I hope you all can do better than me...:detecting:
 
It is either my Shield nickel ( date not legible, but they were minted 1866-1883)

or it is my seated liberty quarter stamped 1877

Nothing earlier on my other old coins that I can see clearly...most of the dates are gone ...salt damaged the coins
 
Dug this 1838 dime at an old CW fort. It had the hole in it, probably worn by the soldier. I wear it on my key chain now. steve in so az

Just cleaned it with the hot peroxide and it looks a heck of a lot better. No date, but it was only made between 1690 and 94

My oldest to date is an 1826 US large cent

Dug on the possible trail the British took to engage in a short battle with Colonel Glover in Pelham Bay Park New York, this enable Washington to escape via New Rochelle and on to White Plains to meet up with other regiments... Nice coin...
