Here I am digging a pretty big hole behind an 1812 fort in VA. Minelab Explorers go deep! :)

WOW, I had no idea detectors could got that deep!!!!!! Awesome finds!!! Cannonball???

We were in an old CW firing range and measuring 11 inches on empty cartrridges - Fisher 1266 X. Steve in so az

Wow!! Who were these people observing you?

I found this heavy ( 1.716 oz.) cross and chain in the low tide thick mud about 1 1/2 ft down... it was so heavy that with all the mud on it , I thought it was a mini anchor!

I use a Minelab GT...it was the loudest sound I had ever heard from the ocean floor..about 40 yds. out from the edge of the beach.

Chinese looking up from the bottom of the hole! :surprised::rofl:

Ok, Mike ...just for that answer...here is something that I baked for you...too bad you live so far away..guess Hank and I will have to eat it all by ourselves:rofl:

Ya wanna play hard ball aye???:starwars:

OK Betty, I 'm saving you a piece..a couple of detecting friends just stopped over and enjoyed a slice or two with coffee.

Maybe they smelled the cake baking or they just knew where to come for good food!

God Bless!
Betty

I opened that pic and my stomach grumbled :) Mmmmm.... I nice sliver of that cake (or two) and a quart of milk! Heaven on earth! You know, I do believe I should take a trip up to Connecticut and, you know, give you some tips on beach hunting or something :) Preferably just before lunchtime

Well, I have an Exp II like Mike does but I've never gone THAT deep :)

I'd have to say that the deepest I can go is at the beach. Not unusual to dig targets a 12" to 18" or more (depending on the size)
