This item was found in a very old house. sealed inside a wall. It is marked Western Electric The terminals are marked I, I, G & top piecs L, L. Is it some kind of old telephone hardware ?

a telephone protector. "L" is where the outside line attaches, "G" is a ground wire, and "I" would be where the inside wires attach. The 2 red things are fuses which would blow in the event of lightning or a power surge.

Thanks People. The people that read these groups are a pretty knowledgeable bunch.. Thanks for the info
