What's best setup for trashy areas under bleachers

I'm going back to a school where I hunted years ago with my GTI 1500 that is very trashy. What's the best setting for this area with a AT PRO with a stock coil ? I've only had this machine a couple weeks and was wondering what works best.

It's hard to detect under trashy bleachers without a Sniper coil. Save yourself some grief and wait until you get one. Otherwise use high disc and low sens. Just pick out the high conductors.

The problem with all the trash, is that it masks a lot of the good targets. A smaller coil like khouse would be my suggestion too.

Under some bleachers raking with a leaf rake will pull a lot of the ketchup bags and other trash out for a little better beeping. Just like hunting around an old house I'll use a contractor magnet and drag on the ground. This gets some surface iron trash out of my way. Every little bit helps.

Yeah, low sens, slow work, and highgrading...also, watch your head on those cross beams! One of the first times hunting under the bleachers, I banged my head hard on one, even wearing a hat it split me open and knocked me down! Looked like a golfer hit a divet out of my head with a sand wedge! I have a dent there now the size of a coffee cup, and when I go out in the rain, a little puddle forms, and birds land there and play in it...still, under the bleachers is a good spot to really get your clad on!

There was a great book written about just this type of hunting. "Metal detecting under the bleachers" by Seymour Butts.

thanks, i'll buy a new coil.

Went to that school and I was amazed at what this detector can do. I set the sens down to about half and notch out some unwanted areas. I found a handfull of clad and even found coins in old holes that I someone else dug. Apparently they didn't have a pinpointer. I can imagine what a sniper coin will do. Definitly will order one on the 1st.

Hey khouse, there were a couple more good books, nuttin' to do with metal detecting but good just the same. One called "Yellow River" by I.P. Freely and another called "Twenty Miles to the Out House" by Willie Makit and Betty Dont.
