whats the problems with the slimline coils?

Neil

from the posts Ive read seems like they get discarded rather quickly as the coil not to use. Ive had good success with them, other than weight what is the beef with this particular coil?
keeping the coil cover off lightens it up a bit as it does with the 1050 coil.

The first ones that came out seemed to have problems... but ML corrected that after the first batch. What killed them was the SEF and Pro coil which are far superior in many ways. Also they werent very balanced with the hookup being on the back of the coil. The best way to fix that was turn the coil around. I still have mine as a back up and i personally like mine, its just not as deep, dont seperate as good, and with the SEF i dont find a need for a small coil.

Thanks Dew. Mine is ser#00421 and sure works well. Ive got the others as well, just havent seen the difference you mentioned other than the weight(pro coil is the lightest) and the sef has a tighter detection center and a little deeper than the three stock explorer coils.
