What's Wrong With This Picture?

A person was shot and killed in Edmonton yesterday. A crime scene was secured, and here is a pic of it.

What is wrong with the detecting method?

Coil wire is not properly wound.

Chris

ummm, might work better if the coil cable was wound around the shaft. lots of false readings the way he has it now...................roger

I would echo the coil cable is not wound or zip tied to the shaft. But, it's not a Garrett so it probably dosen't matter anyway!:garrett:

Hey John,

They just need to get all those poor misguided folks the hell out of there and let one knowledgeable Gattertt hunter in to "Git er done!!"

Regards,

CJ

I think the police should be better trained at using metal detectors. I ran into a goodie in the 70s when I became a dealer. The manager of the Dairy Queen
was found murdered behind the building which was borderd by tall grass and bush. A knife was the murder wepon. I went down to the scene of the crime with my top detectors. Two cops were in tall grass using heathkit detectors and they were swinging the coils a foot or more above the ground and no grid lines. I offered my help free of charge and offered to lend the detectors to them and explained that the detectors I had were superior to theirs in depth and the coils were waterproof as there were puddles all over the place. My offer was declined, no wepon was found and the murder remains unsolved. I left laughing to myself nd mumbling the word "idiots:" HH Ken.

All of that AND I don't see a ProPointer anywhere. With that fine detector they're probably gonna need THE BEST pinpointer!

Apparently they don't understand all they know about detecting. I love that cable flopping around in the breeze.

Since they're doing everything else wrong it would be interesting to see how they have it set up. No wonder crimes never get solved.

Looks like one of those cheap detectors from China (note:the rod is metal all the way to the coil) one of those high dollar ($49.99) machines LOL

they are using a fisher 1266 xb detector, not cheap china junk.

There getting paid to metal detect, they are using a Fisher detector and they will both have a back ache from bending over so long. That is what i see.

Yeah it gets tiresome fast when you have the coil at a 90 degree angle to the shaft. Bet they ain't finding much except maybe any metal in their shoes.
