Where are all the F75 and LTD Finds guys/ Let's see some posts I know your finding the stuff.

Sure would like to have access to a place like you have, Zax!! That would be so exciting. I hope to find something like that someday......before I kick off! I went to a park today for about an hour and a half. Only dug two ring tabs and one bottle cap, the other targets were:

The problem with this area is the abundance of hard, red clay. It is like digging in concrete when it is dry and more like glue when wet. One of the dimes was approx. 9 inches deep, the rest was about 2" to 6". The little button or snap or rivet (whatever it is) is silver in color and showed no corrosion. Is there a way to test for silver? Anyone recognize what it may be?

This sure is a fun hobby!!!

Hey Roland. Nice coins man. I like your signature at the bottom of your post as well. I have lived that experience a couple of times myself with Subwoofers. If the magic smoke escapes its broke.

Thanks, Zax. I have less than 4 hours of actual time on the F75, but, have learned a LOT. Today I was running AM motion and 95 sens and the threshold in the + region allowing some very weak signals. I was running 3 tones, but, found that tabs and caps would produce a high pitch and dimes were in the medium range.....don't understand that. I need to find an area with little or no trash for some better experimentation.

I have been running. Discrimination 0, Sens=85, Notch=1, 2F tone..In JE mode. I have found that this setting really likes copper..I use it most of the time this way. Sometimes I switch to 4 tones. 4 tones is a good tone setting for old coins. Nickels will give a high pitch. Try it and see what happens. Running my Sens above 90 gives me to much chatter. I can handle a little but with it is just going nuts the whole time it gets to me. Sometimes I can take it sometimes not. These settings have really paid off for me lately. ALWAYS REMEMBER to ground balance regularly. That makes a difference.

Thanks again, Zax. So far, the areas I have been are really trashy.......tons of tabs and caps, so, the JE mode would probably be pretty tough. I will, however, give it a shot. I am still VERY new at this game and have just moved from the default settings to the AM motion, playing with the settings.
If you don't mind and have the time, shoot me an email so we don't tie up the thread with one-to-one chat: roland58 at suddenlink dot net

what does notch one eliminate.

1-7 Iron, which is the lower half of the iron scale. It leaves 8-15 active. [1-15 is iron]

I think thats the factory preset..................notch 1

I could be wrong, but, I believe the preset or default setting is no notch with the discrimination set at 10. So, 2/3 or the iron range would be eliminated (1 thru 10) and 11 thru 15 would still be active.

Good going RO. I got for 2 hrs with my ltd 12 coins 3 horseshoes, got to get the hang of the tones, use standard setup, keep getting a real high ping coming in coming in at mid 90's, when I pinpoint it some the ping is gone, and some say 14- 16 deep. Dahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Alot different then the 1270 single tone, but the 2 nickels at 7" were right on the money. and ID'ed the pulltabs right. tomorrow I'm going to the place I've been finding all my silver. Sucker goes DEEP.
