Where's The Silver

I've hunted this elementary school for two days now. A few days ago with the Tesoro Golden and today with the Teknetics Omega. So far 255 coins - 59 quarters, 101 dimes, 28 nickels and 67 pennies. 4 of which are wheat pennies dated in the early fifties. The school was built somewhere around the mid fifties. I attended the school in the early sixties and remember there being plenty of silver coins at the time. Where did it all go? I figure if there's wheat pennies there must be silver close by. I'm going back tomorrow with the Omega and try it with the 11 DD coil.

Hey Jim you can find bullets at this school. Also when I was leaving the school I got to drive by a crime scene, yellow tape and all, just a block from where I was detecting.:)

I would think there would be some silver there and once you get a lot of the clad cleaned out you should began to find some. Between clad, pennies and trash, much of the silver could be masked. I had that happen on an old fairgrounds once. Once I got the newer coins and trash removed, I began finding silver. HH jim tn

Yep, removing the top layers is sometimes the only way to get to what's below...i.e. older coins, including silver. HH

Day 3 and still no silver coins from this site. The good news is, I've found one silver ring and I haven't been shot at.:)

Total coins 392 - quarters 81, dimes 178, nickels 43, and pennies 90. The Omega is smoking hot when it comes to finding coins.

Every time I dug a dime, I was thinking silver ring.
