Which coil for AT Pro in Woods

dlh

New member
Ok.....I know I have seen this debated on here at times, but I can not find anything right now. If hunting a non-trshy woods, and the vegatation allowed, would you use the stock coil or the 5 x 8? Will or does the stock coil get much deeper? I have been using the 5 x 8 mostly for yards and woods.

Thanks
Denis

I don't own the 5x8 however to me the stock coil seems to satisfy my needs. I don't see a purpose in the 5x8 unless I was in a smaller space. Is not true you lose depth in the small coil? The At Pro just seems to be the all around best detector. I have a White M6 too and thinking about selling it to get another AT Pro or Gold

It depends on how dense the vegetation is. I've not noticed very much difference in depth between the 2 in my ground (gb about 80 to 84). Dence undergrouth-- 5x8: sparce-- stock coil.-for ground coverage.

Since I got my 5x8 my stock coil has been back on for about 2 hours. The 5x8 is so much lighter, I have not noticed much if any depth lost. Air testing there was about a 1/2 inch difference. I can get into tighter areas with the 5x8. Pinpointing is more accurate. I think they should make the 5x8 stock on the AT Pro.

-Great depth
-Very sensitive, especially to tiny targets
-Gets into all those nooks and crannies found around trees
-light, so you can easily search steep hills
