which deeptech for trashy parks and iron laden homesteads?

One of these days I'm going to get an addition to my F70. I've watched some videos on the deeptech machines and I like what I see. Which model would be the best for deeper coins in trashy parks and old homesteads with lots of iron? Been looking especially at the warrior, but wonder if one of the other models would be a better choice? Would one of the deeptechs unmask better than my F70? Thanks!

I can't comment on any other DeepTech than the Gold as that is what I have and the only model that I have used but can tell you that it is plenty deep and good in iron. Richard & Ziggy can answer your question I am sure.

I know the Gold,Smart, and Warrior with the super six coil are hard to beat in iron. And as far as depth goes I live in Ohio my soil is mild a little Stoney/rocky I have the Warrior deepest detector I have ever used.Had several detectorsI will never sell this one.

Thanks for the replies. How do you think they'd work in modern trash in a park setting? I think I read somewhere that you can only disc out up to foil...can't remember where I saw this though. Can you disc out a zinc penny on one of these models?

If you need disc higher than small foil, you need to look at another brand of detector.
I hunted trashy school yards and ballfields when I had my Gold, I'm after small gold rings, so I don't need high disc.
I had no problem using the Gold, if you want gold you have to dig trash. If you set the Gold up properly and learn the sounds, its very capable in trashy sites.

It has been suggested to DeepTech that they should make a detector like the Gold with a higher disc setting like Tesoro's. It would be one excellent detector for US folks
that coin and jewelry hunt. They said they would look into it a few years ago, looks like it fell on deaf ears. It's too bad, I would have gotten one for some really trashy sites or if and when I wanted to only cherry pick coins and larger gold rings.

What I liked about the gold is the two tone setting, adjust the disc, anything below the setting gives a low tone, anything higher than the setting gives a high tone. Low tone trash bothering you. The Gold has the iron volume, so any low tones can't be quited way down. The Iron tone is my favorite needed feature, one reason I chose the Gold.

Thanks Sven. I know about digging pull tabs and foil to get gold. Was just wondering if I could cherry pick dimes, quarters, copper pennies and silver by discing out zinc. Some the parks I hunt have tons of zinc pennies. I also like the two tone feature that changes with the disc. One of the reasons I've been looking at deeptechs.

[size=large]Sven pretty much answered your question.. If your not going to dig everything, you need a detector with more discrimination. If you want to find jewelry, then you are pretty much going to have to dig most non-ferrous targets.. I have a friend who digs all non-ferrous targets in playgrounds, parks and schools and he has found over 30 rings this year and other pcs of jewelry. Most of it is not worth much but he has right at $2000 in good finds for this year alone. (BTW, not a DT) It is hard for me to hunt with anything else other than a DT.. I used a Smart Plus last week and a Warrior this week and was very successful both times.. Thanks for your interest. Richard
BTW. there is a new machine coming this fall, hopefully we will get more disc. for those folks out there that want it...

I have the Smart Plus and it is a pretty amazing machine. Granted it doesn't have any discrimination above foil but it has it's place in heavy iron. I knew this before I bought it. It's a simple machine with a lot of power and a blazing recovery speed. Hunted out colonial period homesites in Civil War country is my specialty and this machine produces on every trip. Even with the eleven inch Pitbull coil in heavy iron is phenomenal. I hope to add the Vista Gold as well before winter. These machines are not for everyone as they are a far cry from a digital machine. I didn't a lot of research before I got one and I'm glad I did. You will not be disappointed with one of these machines.
