Which Should I Buy- Quattro or EXPII?

I'm leaning towards a Quattro. However the EXII backlight and dual ferrous/conductivity display seems important? I use Excaliburs and recently purchased a Sov GT. If I purchased the Quattro, then I either would keep the Quattro or Sov and sell the other, based on which I liked better in the field. So if any of you have used/own both machines (Quattro/EXII), which do you prefer? For that matter, also Quattro vs Sov GT thoughts. Thanks, Chris.

I have used all 3 of these and as you know I have always loved my Sovereigns for IDing and good depth, this goes even more for the GT. I also have a XSII I use too, had the Quattro also, but sold it. The reason I sold the Quattro was I couldn't do the adjusting I need to do like I can with the XS II. The tones were just too high pitched on silver for my bad hearing (it was so high pitched it almost sounded like a null to me)and there was no adjustments to change it like the Explorers have. I find the Quattro i had to recheck every one of my signals because of the slow recovery, but this slow recovery also seem to lock on to the deeper target better too. Both the Quattro and the Explorer have a longer learning curve and the Quattro has less adjustments, so it may be easier to use. Both the Quattro and the Explorer the threshold has to return to get a ID on the target.
The Sovereign i find I can ID better with and dig a lot less trash too and can even cover a area faster with the Sovereigns, but overall the Explorer and the Quattro may go a little deeper.
If you have the money to go to the Explorer over the Quattro i would go for the Explorer, but if money is tight the Quattro will do OK too.

Hi Cabochris,
I own a Quattro, my hubby owns an Explorer 11. I've used the Explorer on the beach, and though it's a great machine, I love the way the Quattro goes deep in the sand. I've pulled out sinkers at 2 and a half feet deep. The learning kerb is a little easier, which is why I went with it, rather than the other. But it really is a matter of personal preference. It takes alot to beat either machines, but the sovereign is great also. The Q and E run on 28 frequencies, the S runs on I think 17.
Cheers Angela
