How a frequency selection will make all the difference in the world on the type of conductive metal your after makes me wish it was fourth and ten and happy to punt. I know its a forum and every one comes for advice but come on guys. Get out there and experiment in your ground conditions. You can unlock the power of the Deus if you try.

Think everyone is here to try & learn things about the Deus so they CAN go out there in their ground conditions & unlock the power of the Deus.-----Take it easy!

I hope they can because it can be done.

Some of us are hear trying to learn and determine if it is worth it to us to spend $2K on a new unit... or not. All detectors have strong points and weak points. Ground conditions also play a key role on how well a unit will perform. The more I read and ask questions, the better I can understand how the unit will perform in my conditions. Thanks to everyone who has a Deus and is sharing your information here (both USA and UK).

This posted on another forum:

Take 4 new quarters and hold them together. Compress them VERY firmly between two fingers...... and wave in front of DEUS coil....... and close to the coil.

Report results here....

As the results are coming in, one thing is seen:

18Khz-No report
12Khz-98 i.d with ocassional no report double dash I.D.
8Khz-95 i.d
4Khz-91 i.d

With 4 quarters compressed together tightly with your fingers........... the DEUS will not detect them. NO audio report. This 4-quarters 'mass' is higher in conductivity than the parameters of this units design............ and also........... will not wrap around back into the iron range. This is at its primary designed operating freq (which is 18-Khz). And ....... yes,,,,,,,,,, the 12-Khz freq also has a hard time detecting and reporting 4 quarters. The lower freq's....... the audio seems to be somewhat 'clipped'........ but fully detectable.

I did notice where some iron items could not be detected. This concerns me.

Also........... just because the detector does not 'see' or 'detect' certain iron items..... does NOT mean that the electromagnetic energy from the coil can 'see through' these particular non-detectable iron implements. Masking is unchanged. Iron remains a nightmare.

Not being able to detect certain iron objects is more of a function of a Grnd Balance phase relationship.
Not being able to detect high-conductor non-ferrous items is a phase-parameter engineering platform architect.

At any rate I found that interesting. Shows some relationship between the frequencies and relations to US coins. In another post they were talking about the machine not having as great of an effect as taking individual machines and putting them against one another....such as having a machine specifically made at 7 khz vs a machine at 13 or even 19 khz...and then relating the differences to conductivity of those machines....vs the Deus and changing the individual frequencies on them. They say the different is not as pronounced as it would e on the other units. I found that interesting too.
