Hello! I am new to metal detecting. In fact I am a Garrett Ace 250 Newbie. I am learning to use my current detector and I love it. I know I have to do my classes and practice with my current detector until I learn its reactions inside and outside. However, I am starting to look for my next metal detector, maybe next season.
My area is known to have gold nuggets hidden here and there. There is a old copper mine about 3 miles from my place, It used to be the biggest copper mine in Canada back in the mid 18Th hundreds. I am interested in a machine to start prospecting for gold. The white GMT is the one tickling my fancy right know. However, I would like to know if you could also use it to search for coins and jewels. I know the machine is engineered for gold prospecting. The white detector company already have plenty of coins detecting machines.
I would like to know from the folks using the GMT, if they are also using it for coins and jewels? In the Garrett forum, many Scorpion Stinger users (the Garrett gold prospecting detector) also have a great time finding coins and jewels with their detectors. The Scorpion also seems like a good detector, but I am more interested in the GMT.
