Hello, I recently purchased an F2 as an "upgrade" to my old White's. It does seem to perform much better then the old White's when discriminating (mine is an older, series 1 unit). However, I have a feeling (based upon past finds...I haven't used the White's much in all metal for ages) that when in all metal mode, the White's goes deeper. Now I'm curious...how would the White's compare to a modern, mid range detector (say, the AT Pro or the Fisher F5) when running in all metal mode?
I had been thinking of upgrading the F2 to the F5, At Pro or maybe even the GTP 1350, but a more economical solution (at least for now) might be to sweep the F2 over an area first, removing the bulk of the trash and then sweep again with the White's in all metal mode...listening and digging only the weaker signals.
